Endodontic Treatment

Root_Canal_Illustration_Molar.jpg

Endodontic treatment, or root canal therapy, treats the soft pulp tissue inside the tooth.   This special procedure is used to save a tooth inside your mouth by removing the nerve and blood supply to the tooth and replacing it with a synthetic material called gutta percha. By doing this, the tooth can remain in the patient’s mouth without causing pain. Generally, it is a requirement to have a post build up and a crown placement following root canal therapy to protect the affected tooth.
